| We got started August 21st. A trip to Home Depot at 6 AM for materials and by dinner time we had one wall framed. |
Of course we had to move a lot of "stuff" out of the garage, cut the garage door frames down to size, do a lot of measuring and checking too, so it was a little slow going. |
| The next wall should go up a little faster.
| We're extending the floor a bit here and the next wall will be built on the edge of this extension.
| Flooring extension is done!
| A view from the garage door toward the kitchen door... through the two new doorways.
| The second wall is framed.
| I cut a long hole on top of the ridge and put this vent in... the attic is much cooler now!
| We started wiring.
| It's a good thing Mr. Myers is an electrician...
| ...some of this got a little complicated!
| Insulation was next. This is the study wall/laundry room wall.
| Then the sheetrocking.
| Now it looks like we actually have rooms! This view is from the kitchen extension looking into the laundry room and study.
| We blew the insulation into the existing walls and the attic above the new rooms (and all over me and everything else in the rooms already)!
| All the walls and ceilings were spray painted. The utility room (above left) where the dryer vent runs up through the roof. The kitchen extention (above right) where the new counter space is being built. The door leading out of the study into the storage area (bottom left). And the Myers as they were doing the painting.
