Texas Fish In

April 5-7, 2002

	These two rainbows were caught at the first ever Texas Fish In at the 4th crossing of the Guadalupe River.
The campgrounds at Rio Raft has great river access and here you can see many of those attending the event were trying their hands at the fishing.

When you catch a rainbow trout, a battle ensues both below and above the water. They're notorious for their acrobatics. I never caught them actually out of the water, but it's very exciting!

There were also a few fish other than rainbow trout caught... Tom Lea shows off a sunfish.

On Sunday, there was a float trip on the San Marcos river. Since there were some heavy thunderstorms early Sunday morning, all but 3 opted out. Those attending were Matt Jennings, Kevin Duren and me.

The river is quite scenic and incredibly dense in flora. Some sections like these were hardly fishable because of the swift water and tight quarters... more paddling than casting was necessary.
